I met, as it turns out, my wife in 1979. We had an art class together that met every Tuesday and Thursday evenings. "I noticed her the first day and wanted her to be mine." But I had just one dilemma: How do I get the chance to talk to her?
The art class lasted 2 and one-half hours with a 15-minute break in the middle . I noticed that Karen would bring a lunch bag with an apple inside. She would usually go upstairs and buy a Pepsi pop. This gave me an idea.
During the break I went over and took her apple. She then returned and reached into her bag for her apply and discovered that it was gone. I could hear her muttering to herself, 'I know I brought the thing, now where is it?' Then she noticed me eating her apple.
She marched over to me and started yelling at me and looking like she could just kill me. I apologized profusely and asked her if she wanted the apple back. She said, 'You must be crazy, you've had YOUR MOUTH on it.'
This took place on Tuesday night so I was really dreading coming to the Thursday night class. The woman I wanted to be mine now hated me. To my surprise, she stopped by my bench. I thought here comes Part Two of the screaming. She reached into her bag and pulled out an apple and gave it to me. 'This is for you.' "She has been the apple of my eye ever since."
