
Traditional marriage is being examined by states of Maine and Washington. Five states that have legislated, through court rulings, legal gay marriage are: Connecticut New Hampshire, Iowa, Massachusetts, and Vermont.

Traditional Marriage - Washington StateVoters of Washington did vote on Nov. 3 on Referendum 71 to approve or reject domestic partnerships, but the outcome is still undecided at this printing. Votes were 51 percent to 49 percent. It is expected that if the domestic partnership issue passes, then gay marriage is the next step.
