When I was in college, I often wondered why there were so many religions in the world and how each religion got its start. Because I was attending a Baptist college (Baylor University) during my soul reflection on this subject, I would attend the Sunday service at a nearby Baptist church with friends. One Sunday, while the Pastor was presenting his sermon, a revelation came to me as to the origin of religion following Adam and Eve. The answer: chemistry between men and women.
Let’s use Christianity as an example of how the fellowship grew (Jewish synagogues, Muslim mosques, etc. follow the same pattern). In the beginning, there was Genesis, Jesus, Adam and Eve. As time passed, there was Genesis, Jesus, Adam, Eve and the kids. Men and women for centuries have gone to church to worship the deity of their choice.
Women attend church and look so nice; men naturally sit up and take notice. Soon, men were attending churches where the good-looking women frequent and gradually some of these attractions resulted in marriage. These resulting new couples stayed and reared their children in the church where they met.
New denominations begin when a woman disagrees with her Pastor so strongly that she enlists members of the congregation to break away and begin a new church (or denomination). Usually, the majority of the first members of the new denomination are women because of the female soul make up – a large enough percentage that are good-looking to catch the attention of local single men.
The single men nearby notice there are attractive women attending such and such church and make a point to attend a church service to find out more about the women. When single men attend a new church, additional women church members take note and the cycle of attention ensues. Thus, some denominations have grown huge over the span of several centuries. Watch the new denominations that are beginning today for new attractions…
