Ziggy - A Family Favorite Mascot

Our family tradition began about 15 years ago. I mentioned to my wife that I really enjoyed looking at Ziggy in the funny papers. She stored this in her memory to revisit later.
The first Ziggy on the scene is the J.C. Fields complete with top hat and spats in his red tuxedo. He appeared one Christmas as my first surprise. Hence the collection from American Greetings started. You can see in the pic below as the first-left gent:
Next on the scene is the jailbird Ziggy, complete with ball and chain. I received "Prisoner of Love" on one of my birthdays. He is dressed in the appropriate black and white striped suit.
Happy St. Patrick's Day comes around and so does St. Patty Ziggy with his green shamrocks on his shirt and green top hat (he tells me he likes top hats) with a shamrock. Message on his shirt reads: "Top O' the Morning to You!" My wife says he reminds her of me.
"Merry Christmas" Ziggy appeared next with an "I Love You" heart across his red and green striped PJs. He was decked out in his night cap and reindeer slippers.
Another included in the collection but seems to be missing is skier Ziggy with a winter scarf, mittens, and hat ready for winter play.
The latest Ziggy is the one at the top decked out in his pajamas. He is the largest and was a treasure found on eBay one lucky day.
In addition to this collection are numerous funny paper clippings on a filing cabinet held there by magnets. These are refreshed with the new ones being generated by Tom Wilson II. Speaking of Tom Wilson, he was recently at Book Expo America (BEA) in New York for the launch of his new book, Zig-zagging: Loving Madly, Losing Badly How Ziggy Saved My Life.
