Your points in the book are well taken. You are right on target about what husband/partner should do to foster a happy relationship. I don't know why a lot of men don't make the effort. Maybe they are lazy or out to lunch or something. Judy Fourie, J. Fourie and Company, Raleigh, North Carolina Wow! Good stuff! Great Book! The Lord has blessed us both-taken us a long way from BU days! Dennis Swanberg, "The Swan", Corporate Speaker and America's Minister of Encouragement "Your book is entertaining. I'll have to pass it on to my engaged friends." Susy Broos, University of Phoenix, Phoenix, Arizona. Husband-ry 101: How to Train Your Husband to Be the Spouse You've Always Wanted Him to Be by Michael McCann (Infinity Publishing, 2004) "A cleverly written and fun little book. Smartly uses the latest figures from the burgeoning Evolutionary Psychology movement on what males' really want in relationships. The Author apologetically acknowledges that most men want a pretty attractive female who maintains their looks and wants to have lots and lots of sex with their mate. Loaded with down-to-earth practical advice for couples too. Especially helpful are the Chapters on Finances and Family Travel. Right on! In the Chapter about "Man Logic." The Author correctly points out, "Don't dare separate a man from his music." But then the Author goes on to grossly underestimate the importance of alcohol in male-bonding, politely glossing over the subject by suggesting that Guys "like to drink coffee with their friends at a round table" for hours on end. Ouch! Sure, there's guys that do this at Starbucks, but they're mostly Dweebs. Real men drink beer. Plus, little if any attention is given to childless males who are married. The Author wrongly assumes that all married men have children and/or want children. Many modern married men don't! They just want lots of sex with attractive female partners, more money and more toys. Very well-organized. Superbly edited. Though, not quite cutting edge enough. Too tame, and too politically correct. You get the feeling that the McCann doesn't want to offend his potential female readers. Perfect for the ladies, but guys may be left hanging. Cute cover of romantic flamingoes. 202 Pages. ISBN: 0-7414-1745-6." Review by Eric Dondero, Editor of Independent Publishing Review (IPR), IPR. Perfect For Spouses Looking For Help With The "Spark" My wife saw me reading Husband-ry 101 and wanted to know what I was learning (in a joking way). I told her that I was learning a lot about "keeping the spark alive" in marriage from a regular man (not a psychologist or couch counselor). The premise of Mike's book is that much of the success (or failure) in a marriage is due to communication between the spouses. This book is great for couples and perfect for newlywed classes. Good thing too, I understand you can customize Mike's book (possible with this publisher) to make his book more personalized with your group's name and customized notes inside...a big hit in marriage classes.
